Dear members of the Information and Library Science community,

George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures and its Library, are organizing International Library Staff Training Week, between 26th- 30th of May 2025, in order to share experiences, best practices and networking with international colleagues.

The program consists of presentations of the participants, interactive activities, cultural visits and it is opened to all library staff involved in an academic library.

The event will bring together professional library staff with varied backgrounds, working in university libraries or research orientated centres, with an interest in sharing ideas and networking with colleagues.

The main theme of the 2025 edition of the Library Staff Training Week is: TRENDS IN CONTEMPORARY ACADEMIC LIBRARIES:

ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN, MODERN SERVICES

Through this week, together we will investigate and analyse the new tendencies in library architecture and interior design, but we will also concentrate and approach topics related to modern services implemented in contemporary university libraries.

In case participant’s area of interest is different from the one proposed in the program, other library related topics might be accepted.

Participants will contribute to the programme with a short presentation of their library, with a highlight on architecture, design and modern services, sharing experiences and innovative projects.

Several interesting cultural visits will also be included in the program.

No participation fee is required. Accomodation might pe provided at the university hotel, at a reduced price.

Participants have to cover their expenses using the Erasmus+ grant provided by their home institutions. Please do not make travel arrangements before your participation is confirmed.

Your application should consist of a CV and a letter of motivation. Please send your applications via e-mail to biblio@umfst.ro

Preliminary programme will be published later.
