The Library and Information Center of the University of Patras started hosting the Staff Mobility Week for Librarians three years ago. During the past versions of the program, we were very fortunate to host colleagues from various institutions from Europe, exchanging our knowledge and experiences on matters of the library profession, research, education and culture. Those interactions were very fruitful for us and we hope the same applies to our guests as well. Collaboration and partnership is essential for development in all fields.

In keeping with that spirit, we invite every person involving in the library field to join the fourth version of our Week. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy Greek hospitality and the Greek summer, since the period is perfect for excursions by the sea!

We expect our applicants to have knowledge on areas, such as cataloguing, circulation, digitization, open access and information literacy, without of course excluding other professionals working in a Library. Workshops, presentations and social events aim to provide our participants both knowledge and leisure!

Cost

We do not charge any participation fee, but visitors will cover their own expenses for travel and accommodation. Some meals and coffees are included in the program. Participants are encouraged to use the Erasmus Mobility Grant.

Application

The electronic application is now closed.

Program

You can find the preliminary program attached. The program is subject to changes.

Selection of applicants

The maximum number of participants is 20. If we receive more applications there will be a selection process based on our effort to find the colleagues that will maximize the outcomes of the Week both for our staff and for the rest of the participants. Applicants will be informed about the result until the end of May and they will receive all the information needed about matters of traveling, accommodation, etc.
