5th LSU International Week

You are cordially invited to take part in the 5th International Week “Celebrating 85th Anniversary and 20 Years of Participation in ERASMUS” which will be held from the 8th to 12th of April 2019 at the Lithuanian Sport University, Kaunas, Lithuania.

This year Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) is celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the founding of Higher Courses of Physical Education in 1934 that laid a firm foundation for the Lithuanian Sports University. The 85th Anniversary coincides with another important milestone for the LSU – 20 years of participation in the Erasmus Programme.

During the last two decades the growing numbers of international student and staff mobility and active participation in the European academic projects have shaped the LSU to a truly international University. We invite our old friends and new partners to take part in the International Week and celebrate these two memorable occasions together with us.

Who can attend?

The 5th International Week (IW) is aimed to open a mobility window by welcoming guest teachers from our partner universities to give lectures, seminars and/or practical sessions in the following thematic areas::

• Adapted physical activity
• Health-enhancing physical activity
• Physiotherapy
• Physical education
• Sports coaching
• Sports physiology
• Sports management
• Sports recreation
• Tourism and leisure studies
• Other disciplines in sport science

The IW is a part of the LSU “Internationalisation at home” policy to bring an international dimension to our undergraduate and graduate students by welcoming highly competent scholars, teachers and practitioners for the contribution of knowledge, expertise and innovative ideas to the LSU study programmes.

IW Programme:

During the IW, guest teachers will be assigned to give lectures and/or lead practical sessions for students from different study programmes based on their offered teaching topics. The participants will also have an opportunity to meet colleagues from other academic institutions to share ideas and build partnerships for future collaboration and new projects.

In addition to the teaching programme, the IW will offer different social activities, including:

• guided Kaunas city tour
• tasting traditional Lithuanian cuisine
• sports activities at the LSU campus
• and much more…

Costs:

All participants are expected to cover their travel, accommodation and living expenses from the Erasmus staff mobility for teaching grant or other funds.

Number of participants:

Maximum of 2 teachers per partner institution.

Language:

The working / instruction language is English.
