What is the goal of the training programme?

The main purpose of the Erasmus+ STT week on Academic Communication is to provide participants with the know-how needed to communicate effectively at the university. The training will focus on all different aspects of communication that can be found in the academic culture. Starting from oneself, moving to communication in the group, dealing with conflicts and diplomacy, ending with the online and external communication. Effective communication in all sectors of our lives is a key competence for our relationships.

Participants will be actively involved in all of the processes, interact in a dynamic scenery designed to foster dialogue and debate, being constantly challenged in the learning process.

Whom does it address?

Participants to the training should be members of the academic community with an English level of B1 or above, looking to develop and/or improve their communication knowledge and skills: teaching staff, administrative staff, PhD candidates or researchers etc.

How is the programme structured?

The training programme will take place in the lovely city of Brno, Czech Republic. Booming Brno, with its creativity, history and subterranean mystery, is the perfect antidote to overrun Prague and its forests of selfie sticks. The training programme will be divided into interactive workshops combined with theory, individual, small and big group activities. With a total duration of 25 hours, the classes will take place from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 3 pm. After completion, all participants will be awarded Erasmus+ Staff Mobility (STT) certificates. The training includes also a cultural component with the possibility to visit the Špilberk Castle, the 2nd Largest Ossuary in Europe, go on a hot air balloon ride, visit Brno‘s unique villas, go on a walking city tour and experience a traditional Czech cuisine.

Can the training be funded through Erasmus+ STT grants?

Yes, each participant can apply for a mobility grant within his/her institution. We will provide all the required documentation for the Erasmus+ STT grant applicants: invitation, training curricula and certificate of attendance.
