The programme focuses on archaeology, arts, and their protection within the framework of international law. Consequently, the BIP will furnish interdisciplinary insight into the historical development of archaeology within the respective nations, excavation sites, art collections, and notably, the legal aspects of protection of historical and artistic artifacts in the international context. The participants will convene for a series of specially tailored lectures, engage with counterparts from abroad, and collaborate on common tasks. The programme will encompass practical training with case studies in the international protection of historical and artistic objects. Additionally, the participants will have the opportunity to visit and acquire knowledge from excavation sites (such as Býčí skála Cave) and artistic collections (for example, the Archbishop´s Chateau in Kroměříž, National Gallery Prague) in the Czech Republic.

We are pleased to announce that the physical component of BIP will be hosted at the Faculty of Law/ Faculty of Arts, Palacký University, Olomouc, Czech Republic, from July 15th to July 26th, 2024. Additionally, we are excited to inform you that a virtual component will complement the physical event, primarily occurring during our time together in July to ensure seamless integration and to address any technical concerns. The virtual activity will continue in September when the final presentations will take place.

We cordially invite you to participate in both the physical and virtual segments of the programme. Below are some important details:

Registration Deadline: June 26th, 2024. To register and obtain further information, kindly contact martin.verner@upol.cz. Your registration will be confirmed upon receipt of your Mobility Agreement for Training.

Results of the selection process will be communicated by June 28th, 2024.

Registration Procedure for Sending Institutions: Sending institutions are required to register their participants in the Beneficiary Module. This step is essential for effective coordination and administration of the programme.

Funding Considerations: In instances where the sending institution is unable to provide funding for participant mobility, individuals may opt for an Erasmus+ zero grant. Should this apply to you, please indicate your preference, and we will ensure your registration reflects this in the Beneficiary Module.

Your International Office coordinators are well-versed in these procedures and are available to assist you as needed.

We eagerly anticipate your presence in Olomouc.

Costs:

Organizational Support: Palacký University Olomouc is responsible for coordinating the organization of the BIP and receives organizational support.

Travel and Accommodation: The travel and accommodation expenses for participants are covered by their sending universities through their Erasmus+ funds, typically allocated as short-term training mobility under KA 131. Each participant is required to arrange their accommodation independently. However, we can assist you in securing accommodation at a discounted rate at OREA Hotel Arigone Olomouc.

Participation Fee: There are no participation fees for participants.

We kindly urge you to reach out to the Institutional Erasmus Coordinator at your university's International Office, unless you hold this role yourself. They will provide guidance on applying for funding through the BIP/Erasmus+ programme of your home institution and assist you with all necessary formalities. It's essential to ensure that your travel arrangements cover the entire duration of the event (12 days).

While this process may involve some paperwork, we believe it will streamline the funding of your BIP participation and enhance the quality of the event for all involved.

Participants will receive all requisite documentation for the Erasmus programme and a certificate verifying their participation. It's crucial to liaise with your Erasmus Institutional Coordinator to secure funding (for travel and subsistence) for your stay in Olomouc, as funding must be managed through your sending institution.

We eagerly anticipate your participation in our BIP. Should you have any inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Kindly inform us of your interest and the number of colleagues who wish to attend.
