The Barcelona Summer School on Higher Education Policy and Management is a training and professional development programme for leaders and managers of higher education institutions around the world, as well as professionals from competent organisations in higher education such as government ministries, quality agencies and others.

The goal of the Barcelona Summer School is to train university leaders and managers with the knowledge, values, skills and experiences required to become agents of innovation and institutional transformation to lead a more resilient, sustainable and socially responsible university system. This is one of the core activities of the Higher Education Leadership and Management Hub of the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi).

For this reason, this intensive, innovative and face-to-face programme has been designed with theory and conceptual analysis, workshops and debates, as well as knowledge of managerial experiences and tools for institutional transformation and innovation.

The Barcelona Summer School programme is part of GUNi’s vision which comprehends universities as beacons for society, leading the knowledge society and generating a new social contract to be drivers of progress, justice, and welfare. In short, fully committed to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The programme recognises the global dimension of higher education and trains its participants to work in a diverse international environment through inter-institutional collaboration.

The teaching staff is made up of experts, professionals, and decision-makers with an international renown in the fields of higher education policy and management, as well as in the management of institutional innovation and transformation.

The Barcelona Summer School expects to welcome university leaders and managers from institutions and countries around the world, which in itself will help to foster personal and professional growth in a multicultural context.
