Preliminary Program

  • Introductory and Feedback Sessions
  • Workshops on Intercultural Competence and Welcome Services
  • Sessions to forge new partnerships and collaborations
  • Individual appointments/Job-Shadowing sessions with Med Uni Graz staff
  • Campus Tour
  • Site Visits depending on participants‘ interests, including the Center for Medical Research, the Biobank, the Division of Anatomy, the Department of Study Management
  • Social Programme including a guided city tour and an excursion to the Styrian Wine Country

Target Group

  • Administrative staff members
  • Priority will be given to staff from Med Uni Graz partners but application is also open for other staff members
  • To guarantee geographical diversity, participants will be selected considering their region/country of residence
  • Max. number of participants: 25

Registration

  • Registration period: 15 November 2019 - 15 February 2020

  • Registration becomes final with the payment of the participation fee (see "Participation Fee")

Participation Fee

  • Participation fee: € 90
  • Included: all materials, coffee breaks, welcome lunch, guided city tour, site visits, excursion, closing lunch
  • Not included: travel expenses, accommodation, certain meals
  • Please note that it is not possible to just pay for individual days or activities
  • You will be provided with the payment details after confirmation of your registration

Travel

  • Bus: Several international bus companies serve the city of Graz. Please see their individual websites for further information: Flixbus or Eurolines
  • Train: The main train station of Graz is called "Graz Hauptbahnhof". Information on train schedules can be found on the website of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB)
  • Plane: The closest airports are Graz airport (GRZ) – with connections to many European cities - and Vienna International Airport (VIE) – with connections worldwid

From the airport to Graz

  • From Graz aiport: If you fly into Graz, you can either take the train from the airport to the main station (Graz Hauptbahnhof), the bus to Graz Jakominiplatz (in the city center) or take a taxi from the airport to the hotel (costs: ca. 25 to 30 EUR).
  • From Vienna airport: by Coach (2 hours 40 min): A very affordable and direct way to get to Graz from Vienna is with the Flixbus. The direct service from Vienna Airport to Graz takes you to Graz Girardigasse, directly in the centre of the city. You must pre-book tickets for this service. By Train (3 hours): Those arriving to Vienna International Airport can take the train (Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB)) from Vienna to Graz Hauptbahnhof (main train station). The train runs along one of the oldest tracks (World Cultural Heritage) crossing the Alps from north to south (built around 1860) with spectacular views of the mountain ranges. Tickets for trains between Vienna and Graz can be bought online.
