The University of Thessaly Library and Information Centre is pleased to invite you to the 2nd Erasmus+ Library Staff Week, which will be held from May 11 to 15 May, 2020 at the University of Thessaly Central Library in Volos, Greece.
The event is aimed at staff working in libraries, archives and learning or research centers (eg. librarians, information specialists, library specialists, computer specialists, archivists, conservators, administrative staff, etc.).
The main aim is to provide a programme focus on themes and topics relevant to current issues in academic libraries. The themes that will be covered may include, but are not limited to:
Our goals are to facilitate the exchange of best practice, experience, knowledge and expertise between the participants. Every participant will be asked to give a short presentation in the previews themes. Despite that, participants can also present case studies or relevant research they are conducting in.
The working language will be English.
The Library Staff Week event will comprise presentations, library and cultural site visits, networking and social activities. The attached programme is a preliminary one and does not include the social events (these will be included in the final programme).
The maximum number of participants is 25 with a maximum of 3 attendees per institution. To guarantee a realisation of the Staff Training Week, a minimum number of 10 participants in total are required.
There is registration fee of 50€ and includes event material, coffee breaks, welcome lunch, site visits and all day guided excursion. The participants should make arrangements on their own regarding travel, accommodation and living, the cost of which should be covered by Erasmus+ mobility grants from their home institutions. Payment details will be communicated to accepted applicants by email.
Note: Registration becomes final with the payment of the registration fee. Please note that it is not possible to just pay for individual days or activities.
The application deadline will be Friday March 13th, 2020. The participants will be selected according to the expectations and motivation for taking part in UTh Library Staff Week and geographical diversity.
Note: The maximum number of participants is 25. If we receive more applications there will be a selection process based on our effort to find the colleagues that will maximize the outcomes of the week both for our staff and for the rest of the participants.
Applications will be answered not later than March 16th, 2020.
