Novia's International Week 2020 is cancelled.

Due to global precautions for and concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with recommendations from the World Health Organization and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel our International Week 24-26.3.2020 at Novia University of Applied Sciences.

Participants of the week will receive more information regarding the cancellation on 12 March 2020.

Novia University of Applied Sciences is happy to announce its sixth International Week to be held at the campuses in Turku and Raseborg 24-26 March 2020. The theme of the week will be

Practically based learning methods

During your stay you will get to know more about

- simulation in Nursing and Social Services education

- digital rooms in teaching

- virtualised excursions & field courses

- how studies are integrated with business practices

- how design thinking is implemented in student businesses

- how future sea captains train navigation in simulators

Our aim is to learn as much as possible from each other. Therefore there will be time for discussion and comparisons after each session. Participants are also welcome to give a presentation about practically based learning methods at their own institutions.

We also want to give the participants as many opportunities as possible to get to know one another, network, get a taste of Finnish culture and a chance to get to know Finland’s oldest city, Turku, and the picturesque town of Raseborg.

For those taking part in teacher exchanges we will do our best to provide teaching possibilities but giving lectures can be a challenge. Therefore we recommend a combined teacher and staff exchange which includes maximum four hours of teaching. Co-teaching with a teacher from Novia will be easiest to realise. At the campus in Turku we offer Social and Health Care, Business administration and Maritime Management. At the campus in Raseborg Civil Engineering, Sustainable Coastal Management and Natural Resources are taught.

Participation in the International Week is free of charge. If the exchange is an Erasmus+, Erasmus Global or Nordplus teacher or staff exchange we will be happy to assist with all documents.

In order to enable an interactive programme we will accept no more than 20 guests altogether, and not more than two participants from each university.

We look forward to welcoming you to Novia!

Kind regards

Camilla Pundars-Mitts, Camilla Moliis and Isabelle Bonnet
