CLIL Teacher Training CLIL (Secondary)

Our CLIL courses for teachers are designed for non-native teachers who teach subjects through English or plan to teach in English. This course has been designed to up-skill participants in order to make a greater contribution in their home school both inside and outside the classroom. The programme focuses on giving participants knowledge and skills that they use to provide CLIL teacher training to other teacher colleagues  in their school.

What is CLIL? 

CLIL means ‘content and language integrated learning’ and refers to an approach for learning content through an additional language (foreign or second), thus teaching both the subject and the language.

Course Content

You will explore the principles behind Content and Language Integrated learning (CLIL) and improve your English language skills so that you will be able to teach through the language.

Our staff will equip you, and by extension your students, with both the confidence and skills needed to deliver a broad range of CLIL-based activities inside and outside the classroom.

You will gain an understanding of how to combine language and subject teaching within a practical lesson framework. Explore a wide variety of practical tasks and activities which can be put to immediate use in the classroom.

Minimum Level of English: CEFR B1+/B2 level (Intermediate Plus/Upper-intermediate level)

Active Social Programme: We have an active social programme which includes various actvities each week.  

Accommodation Options: We have a number of options that participants can choose from.  You can book your own accommodation or apply for school accommodation at enquiry stage.  We offer student residential apartments or a host family.  Accommodation prices are available upon request.
