Educational Summer School

The « Université pédagogique d’été » is a 2 week teachers’ training program designed for French as a Foreign Language teachers to update and explore different pedagogical practices whilst deepening their cultural knowledge of France and the Loire Valley region.

Who is it for?

French as a Foreign Language Teachers. To benefit from the training, we recommend the participants to have a B2 level in French at the minimum.

Training program:

The program will allow the participants to analyze their teaching practices, to experiment new ones, and to explore teaching materials through 4 training modules:

- Creative teaching practices to approach differently the writing and speaking skills: creative writing workshops and theatre

- Teaching today’s French society and culture with updated materials

- Leading collaborative and fun activities with digital tools

- Teaching French as a Foreign Language using the media

Cultural program:

The 2 weeks offer a rich cultural program for the participants to deepen their knowledge about the region of the Loire Valley. 2 day trips are included to discover the castles and cities of Chambord, Blois, Chenonceau and Amboise. The participants will be able to explore the city through guided tours and the city’s riverside summer entertainment.

Where ?

Orléans (France) is located in the heart of the Loire Valley (UNESCO World Heritage) and only one hour from Paris by train. The French Institute (IDF) of the University of Orleans is accredited with 3 stars with the label “Quality of French as a Foreign Language”.
