Dear Partners and Colleagues, I’m very pleased to inform you that the University of Catania will be hosting the 10th edition of our ERASMUS STAFF WEEK on “Erasmus+ mobility after Covid  19: New Educational Perspectives”.

The event will be held from January 31st to February 4th 2022 and it is mostly designed for Higher Education professionals (teachers and administrative staff) working with international students and staff exchanges and will offer an intensive professional training course which equips participants to better face the difficulties related to the COVID-19 emergency to restore a “new normal situation”. It is also designed as a problem- solving forum to share best practices and possible solutions to the problems experimented in the last two years. The course combines practical workshops and applied exercises to develop a conscious approach to the topic of the staff week and to better explore the blended mobility model which could be a new fruitful modality to benefit an international exchange.

We cordially invite you to join the Catania Staff Week to network, discuss and share experiences, best practices and challenges with representatives of other institutions to acquire new knowledge and further develop expertise and fresh motivation. The purpose is to promote the idea of internationalization and strengthen our international partnership through individual meetings, presentations and workshops. We hope you will enjoy your experience at our university in a stimulating academic environment based on tradition and innovation, key elements for educational institutions development.

The International Staff Week will accept a limited amount of participants – maximum 30 participants and the following target group will be selected as a priority: international officers and international coordinators, Erasmus institutional coordinators, teaching university staff, deans, and vice deans and deputy rectors involved on internationalization process; staff dealing with KA 103, finances and accountancy staff, communication and marketing officers. Please consider that we can allow a maximum of 3 (three) representatives from each institution and that the attendance of minimum 2/3 of the scheduled activities is requested.

We recommend the interested candidates to fill in the online application form available here until December 17h, 2021.  The selection will be made on the basis of the information on professional profile described in the application form on-line and the results will be published and mailed to each applicant shortly after the process deadline by December 22th 2021 approximately. Please do not make travel arrangements before your participation is confirmed.

We do not charge any program fees and will cover cultural and social events and some meals costs (as specified in the programme). Accommodation and travel cost should be covered by participants.

Please find attached herewith our preliminary Program 2022: we have scheduled some interactive working sessions and discussion groups, as well as cultural and social activities. We would like to give the participants space for their own presentations during the week, for better sharing of their knowledge and advice to each other. We expect a very active participation.

We wish to open the University of Catania to our partners and other foreign universities in order to strengthen international cooperation by encouraging the exchange of best practices and experiences. Please remember that “Green Pass” is mandatory to access to UNICT and to other venue in the city.

For more details and updated information, please check the UNICT website. Should you have any more questions regarding our Staff Training Week 2022 do not hesitate to contact us (contact person: Maria Luisa Leotta, email: mluisa.leotta@unict.it).

We look forward to welcoming you in Catania!

Kindest regards,

Daniela Irrera
