TAMPERE, FINLAND
OBJECTIVES:
During this week, the aim is to increase the students’ knowledge in the promotion, prevention, social services and nursing of families and to support the students’ awareness of different cultures in care. During the week, students get to practise their presentation skills by preparing their own presentations in groups. In their presentations, the students have for example the possibility to familiarise themselves with the legislation of their own country and how health and social services are organised. Exchange students present briefly their own home universities. The aim of the study week is also to increase the students’ international competence skills.
Teachers have the opportunity to present the health care system, social services and education of their university and country, teach nursing or social services in a transcultural environment, and get to follow lectures delivered by health care or social service professionals from various universities. There are also plenty of good opportunities to create new contacts.
During the week, the participants are familiarised with the Finnish health care system and social services by means of lectures, meetings, and study visits. There is also a possibility to collaborate in different expert forums to share knowledge with experts from Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and the participating universities.
The final programme will be designed in March when the teachers’ participation has been confirmed. The travel and accommodation costs should be covered by the Erasmus grant or by another grant provided by the sending institution.
The programme consists of plenary sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and study visits.
Welcome!
