Gothenburg University Library Staff Week

Gothenburg University Library would like to invite you to our Erasmus Staff Week!

Our university has a strong tradition of internationalisation and would like to share experiences and insights as well as to discuss topics relevant to library practitioners of today.

The University Library is one organisation with seven libraries and one National Resource Library for gender studies spread out in the city center, from medical sciences to humanities, education and economics, to name a few. These libraries cover many disciplines and work actively with the major practices and issues that distinguish the dynamism of today’s university libraries.

By participating in the Erasmus Staff Training program, you will have the opportunity to gain insights into our work through a series of activities including lectures and interactive workshops. During the week, you will be able to share your own experiences and get to know more about your fellow colleagues from other countries.

The topic of this year is librarians teaching practices and pedagogical skills in user meetings:

• Librarians teaching practices
• Information channels
• Reading impairments
• Collegiate learning

The agenda includes:

• Lectures and workshops on key topics of the staff week
• Presentations of a best practice by the participants

The training week are free of charge and will take place May 13 – May 17, 2024. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2024. Applicants will receive selection notification around February 16.

Describe briefly in the application your work tasks and what kind of best practice example you intend to present. The maximum number of participants is 15, with no more than two from the same institution.

Participants will be selected based on this year’s topic and on best practice. There will also be a reserve list.
