Erasmus+ Staff Training Week

The Center for the Study of the Hellenic Language and Culture at the University of Ioannina organises a staff training week in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme entitled «Greek language and Greek language teaching: Trends and developments».

The training week will take place from the 4 to 8 May 2015 at the International Center of Hellenic Culture & Vocational Training "Stavros Niarchos".

The working language is Greek.

The programme is addressed to University-level Greek language teachers and academics.

Participation in the training week includes:

  • Lectures on «Greek language and Greek language teaching: Trends and developments»,
  • Lectures delivered by faculty members of the University of Ioannina,
  • Participation in workshops,
  • Teaching material,
  • Participants’ short presentations on their Universities,
  • Guided educational fieldtrips, campus tour,
  • Networking with members of the academic community at the University of Ioannina,
  • Accommodation (see below),
  • Half board and coffee breaks,
  • Farewell dinner in town,
  • Shuttle bus service from/to the airport of Ioannina

 

Indicative training subthemes:

Trends and developments in the Greek language, language didactics, technology in education, intercultural teaching, teaching material.

 

Learning outcomes:

Familiarisation with modern techniques regarding teaching Greek as a foreign language, availability of teaching resources (e.g. teaching material, methodologies, technology, the role of culture in language learning), current linguistic issues, good practices.
