High Fidelity in your DaF-ability (HiFi-DaF): International Teaching Staff Week

It’s our pleasure to invite you to take part in the HiFi-DaF International Teaching Staff Exchange Week at Clausthal University of Technology.

You will have the opportunity to attend a workshop “Intercultural Communication” as a model class, teach our international students in intensive German language courses using a peer-team instructional format (min. 8 – 10 hours), and listen to talks about idiomatic expressions and phraseology in the German language and German history.

Intended outcomes: Broadening and developing your classroom skills through practical experiences and peer review in the classroom, as well as expanding your teaching methods.

Contents:

• Team teaching with peer review (8 – 10 hours)
• Workshop “Intercultural Communication”
• Teaching methods
• Idiomatic expressions and phraseology in the German language
• Lecture on German history: The Reunification of Germany
• Model film seminar “Movie Night”
• Dinner by invitation of the President of Clausthal University of Technology
• Visit to Christmas market in Goslar
• X-mas Get Together Party

Accommodation: Accommodation not provided. We reserved rooms for 72 € or 99 € (breakfast included) at “Hotel Goldene Krone” and rooms for 49,50 € or 53,50 € (breakfast + 6,50 € per day) at “Harzhotel Zum Prinzen”. Please contact the hotels until 15 October 2019 (reference: Teaching Staff Exchange Week 2019).
