The University of Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is excited to host the International Library Staff Exchange Week in the beautiful city of Zagreb. With 23 Departments, 18 Centers and 8 Institutes, the Faculty is the oldest constituent part of the University of Zagreb, which was founded in 1669.
We are delighted to invite you to share experiences, best practices and network with colleagues. The library's role as a vital community resource has been increasingly reinforced, and we wish to continue strengthening it by exchanging ideas on outreach and community engagement.
The staff week is organized by The Library of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is the largest academic library in Croatia. We will introduce the library services of our Library, as well as several lectures by the Department of Information Sciences of our Faculty. There will be opportunities to discuss the latest trends in Library and Information Science.
Through a combination of keynote speakers, group discussions and presentations by participants, we will cover the following topics:
• AI and Libraries (services, business processes, ethical issues...)
• Open access and Open science (citizen science)
• Management of digital and electronic assets and related projects
• Library services
• Library support for researchers in science and research (bibliometric analysis, data management).
All participants are invited to join in, please share your experience with your lecture or presentation on the above-mentioned topics.
The program will include a visit to the National and University Library in Zagreb.
The registration fee includes a welcome lunch, coffee breaks, farewell dinner, a sightseeing tour of the city of Zagreb and an inspiring museum visit. We invite you to explore our beautiful city of Zagreb at ZagrebInfo or at #VisitZagreb,#LoveZagreb.
Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the participants (or using the Erasmus+ grant of your home institution, if applicable). Please contact the International Office at your home institution as attendance may qualify as an Erasmus+ staff mobility. We are happy to sign your documents.
Please do not make travel arrangements before your participation is confirmed.
Take a look at the attached preliminary programme (subject to change, social activities to be added) and get in touch with us in case of questions. Contact: Tatijana Petrić (Ms), tpetric@m.ffzg.hr; Marija Vukovojac-Dugan (Ms) – mavukovo@m.ffzg.hr
