Justus Liebig University Giessen invites its partners from International Offices around the world to JLU’s International Networking Week 2019. This week is organized and hosted by JLU’s International Office and is embedded in the Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Programme.

This year’s topic will be “Internationalisation of Administrative Staff”. The sessions allow participants to learn about the German perspective on this issue as well as to share their own views and experience. Two projects implemented within the framework of Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships will serve as examples of how universities can systematically strengthen their staff’s competences and commitment with regard to internationalisation processes. There will also be room to discuss further topics of interest within the field of internationalisation and to exchange ideas on how to foster student and staff mobility. An intercultural session as well as German classes will also be part of the programme, just as individual meetings with faculty members or IO colleagues.

A highlight of the social programme is the International Visiting Scholars Reception of the President, which takes place at the picturesque Castle Rauischholzhausen. Participants will also get the opportunity to go on a day trip to Hessenpark and Frankfurt. Hessenpark is an open-air museum that displays buildings from all over Hesse and allows visitors to discover the everyday life in Hessian villages in the past.

As Giessen is one of the towns with the highest student density in Germany, the participants will be able to get a good insight into life and studying in a typical German student city.

Accommodation: Participants should make their reservations themselves, but we have a list of hotels on our website and can recommend suitable options.

Please apply on our website: https://www.uni-giessen.de/internationales/erasmus/st (open until 31 March, 2019).

We look forward to welcoming you in Giessen in June!
