The Office of International Relations and the Center for Teacher Education at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Campus Koblenz, invites scientists, lecturers and administrative staff from universities abroad to the International Erasmus+ Staff Training Week on the subject of internationalization and professionalization of teacher education. The internationalization and professionalization of teacher education is of particular importance in Europe. Within the ERASMUS+ International Staff Training Week at Campus Koblenz we would like to learn more about international experiences and best practice examples.

Discussion Sessions

  • Student Mobility in Teaching Degrees. The German statistics of student mobility in teaching degrees shows very low numbers in an outgoing mobility in comparison to other degrees. Main reasons identified for this trend were a rigid curriculum as well as lacking motivation to go abroad. The session aims to analyze the trends of student mobility in teaching degrees in various countries, as well as the challenges and opportunities in this area. Through discussions and experience exchange we hope to find viable solutions for increasing student mobility numbers in teaching degrees.
  • Staff Mobility in Teaching Degrees. The aim of the session is to share experiences on staff mobility in teaching degrees and the opportunities it opens for the internationalization at a sending and receiving institution. Moreover, we hope to learn in how far staff mobility may improve the qualifications of teaching staffs.
  • Internationalization of Curriculum. Ever growing globalization of the world and current waves of refugees in many European countries lead to heterogeneity of classrooms in schools. How can we provide future teachers skills and competences necessary for the work in multicultural environments? How can ERASMUS+ program contribute to the internationalization of Curriculum for Teacher Education? We are looking forward to discussing these kinds of questions together with you.

We invite you to submit a short (300 Words) abstract to one of the discussion sessions above. Please note that due to a limited amount of places not every applicant will be able to participate in the event. The selection of participants will be based on the abstracts.
