The Library and Information Services of Cyprus University of Technology is pleased to invite you to the second Erasmus Staff Week for Librarians which will be held from the 26th to 30th of June 2017 in Limassol, Cyprus.
The title of the program is “Library's impact on preserving cultural heritage and research output”.
WHO CAN ATTEND
This International Erasmus Staff Week is targeted towards librarians and archivists but also more widely any staff member working in a library, archive or dealing with librarianship and archive science.
Please note that all communication, presentations and discussions will be in English language.
WHAT IS IN THE PROGRAM
The main objective of this International Erasmus Staff Week is to widen and strengthen international cooperation, exchange of know-how, good experiences and practices with other libraries.
The program will comprise a range of issues related to the significant impact of Libraries on digital preservation of library materials, cultural heritage and research output, as well as digital information, digital collections and data archiving. Libraries also need to provide good storage, appropriate environmental conditions, protective enclosures, risk assessment and control, interventive conservation, and a relevant financial and policy regime. That’s why their role on fostering new open access initiatives and offering sustainability of open infrastructure and services is so important.
With this initiative we wish to introduce the Cyprus University of Technology Library activities on digitization of cultural heritage, preservation policy and practice, sustainable library projects, shared services and the creation of open, collaborative digital repositories. You are also invited to share your library’s actions on sustainability, including digital preservation, research preservation, digital repositories, infrastructure, etc.
