We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd International Staff Training Week concerning Career & Employability Services of the University of Porto – New Generations’ Demands: the future of Career & Employability Offices, which will be held from November, 11 to 15, 2019 in Porto (Portugal).

Nowadays, there are several challenges into the labour market and careers, and it is increasingly important that career and employability offices have to become more proactive and changeable, in order to better prepare students for complex and changing professional world.

Within the framework of exploring networking, the main purpose of our International Staff Training Week is to widen and strengthen the cooperation with partner institutions, to share different experiences on career & employability services and establish new partnerships.

As you can see, in the attached programme, during this week, you will have the opportunity to:

  • understand how the Employability Office works at U.Porto, and at the partners HEI;
  • present your home university, working places, practices and activities;
  • discuss challenges and trends among the new generation and the top soft skills companies will need the most;
  • explore, through team work, new ideas and ways to deal with the demands of the new era;
  • get some coaching and training in order to reimagine new models and approaches for career and professional counselling;
  • visit some local entrepreneurial spaces and companies
  • discover the beautiful city of Porto.

However, in order to get a more agile and efficient training programme, and that can fill all your interests, we also invite the participants to suggest themes and subjects to be presented (at the registration form it will be asked your themes of interest). You also will have the opportunity to present special topics of interest within the field of career and employability themes.

You can find more information on the PROGRAMME attached or at this webpage

COSTS: 250€ participation fee, which includes: daily lunch; official dinner; coffee breaks; visits and social programme; certificates of attendance.

Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living expenses (accommodation) through the Erasmus funds for staff mobility or others funds.  Information on travelling, accommodation and other practical matters will be provided to the selected participants.
