Engage with an international community of academics, explore AI-resilient teaching and assessment methods, and develop practical frameworks that protect academic integrity while embracing innovation. By the end of the week, you’ll leave with tools, policy ideas, and action plan ideas to implement at your institution.

Goal of the week

This program is not a software tutorial. It is a strategic intervention designed for higher education professionals who must navigate the systemic disruption caused by generative Artificial Intelligence. Most institutional responses to AI default to either uncritical adoption (vendor-led "tips and tricks") or futile resistance (surveillance and detection). Both approaches de-professionalize the educator. This course provides a pedagogical approach to ensure the quality and integrity of learning. Participants will shift their focus from tactical "prompt engineering" to the cultivation of "Executive Cognition." You will learn to design AI-resilient assessments, deploy rigorous verification protocols for research, and draft localized governance policies.

 

Target group

This course is designed for academics.

  • Teaching staff seeking to bypass AI-generated "slop" and redesign assessments that render cheating structurally irrelevant.
  • Faculty staff members requiring rigorous, verifiable frameworks for accelerated literature discovery without compromising epistemic integrity.
  • Deans, Department Heads, and International Office Coordinators or other administrators tasked with drafting discursive AI policies and managing institutional change.

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training, participants will be able to...

  • Explain how generative AI works and apply critical verification strategies to avoid AI errors, bias, and misconceptions.
  • Use advanced prompting techniques to control AI outputs while auditing for bias and privacy to ensure ethical use.
  • Combine AI tools and prompting techniques with pedagogy to create differentiated learning materials for diverse student needs.
  • Redesign assessments using process-based evidence to evaluate student learning and prevent academic dishonesty.
  • Design activities that teach students how to effectively use AI while protecting their critical thinking skills.
  • Use AI research tools to accelerate literature discovery while rigorously verifying citations for accuracy.
  • Draft an institutional AI policy that fosters safe experimentation while maintaining academic quality and integrity.
  • Create a change-management strategy that identifies key allies and resolves friction points for AI adoption at your institution.
  • Develop an immediate, localized action plan (e.g., redesigned syllabus, assessment, or policy) ready for deployment.
