Erasmus+ Staff Training Week, taking place in Tallinn University Haapsalu College September 19-23, 2016,

with the focus on following questions:

What is the role of universities in regional growth?

How can effective partnerships and strategies be created and implemented to maximize the collaboration between universities and regions?

How can universities improve their ability to engage with regional development actors?

The Staff Training Week gives you the opportunity to get to know the higher education system in Estonia, but also get a wider understanding about the roles and responsibilities of universities in serving society, collaborating with social partners and contributing to regional growth.

Haapsalu College is a regional campus of Tallinn University, located on the western coast of Estonia, with the mission of contributing to the regional growth through providing applied higher education, conducting research and transferring the knowledge of Tallinn University to the region. The college is important collaboration partner for regional stakeholders and an active agent for innovation processes.

During the week there will be seminars, study visits and meetings with relevant social partners from regional grass root level organizations to parliament members concentrating on the strategic questions mentioned above.

You will also have the possibility to learn some Estonian language, hear about our culture, and visit the medieval Old Town of Tallinn and towns in West-Estonia where HEI’s are located.

The target group of the Staff Training Week is university staff responsible for collaboration with social partners in different matters, both academic and non-academic. We appreciate the participation by university staff that has previous experience or ideas about the topic worth sharing with European colleagues to learn from each other.
