What is the goal of the training programme?

The main purpose of the Erasmus+ STT week on Student Engagement Strategies is to equip participants with practical tools and evidence-based methods for increasing student motivation, participation, and ownership of the learning process. The training focuses on understanding the diverse factors that influence engagement—cognitive, emotional, and behavioral—and how to respond to them through inclusive, adaptable, and creative teaching strategies. While rooted in educational theory, the program emphasizes experiential learning, offering participants the opportunity to apply new techniques through simulations, group work, and interactive case studies. The approach is not limited to classroom teaching but can be easily adapted for mentoring, academic advising, or extracurricular learning environments.

Whom does it address?

Participants to the training should be members of the academic community with an English level of B1 or above, looking to develop and/or improve their communication knowledge and skills: teaching staff, administrative staff, PhD candidates or researchers etc.

How is the programme structured?

The training program will take place in the lovely city of Timisoara, Romania. Timisoara is also known as little Vienna because of its habsburgic look and traces of the Austrian Empire. Timisoara was elected European Capital of Culture for 2023 because of its beauty, rich cultural life and peaceful blend of ethnic minorities. The training program will be divided into presentations and workshops combined with one-to-one coaching sessions. With a total duration of 25 hours, the classes will take place from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 3.30 pm. After completion, all participants will be awarded Erasmus+ Staff Mobility (STT) certificates. The training includes also a rich cultural component with several activities proposed for each day.

Can the training be funded through Erasmus+ STT grants?

Yes, each participant can apply for a mobility grant within his/her/their institution. We will provide all the required documentation for the Erasmus+ STT grant applicants: invitation, training curricula and certificate of attendance.

What is the cost of the programme?

The program package costs 550 (shared room)/650 (single room) euro and it includes:

the training program facilitated by experienced trainers;

accommodation for 6 nights at the 3* facility of the academy opened in October 2023;

meals: breakfast and lunch;

candy bar and coffee bar;

training materials;

a cultural immersion day filled with history, culture and fun;

a walking city tour;

assistance throughout the week;

certificate of attendance.

Can I bring a plus one?

Yes, you will just need to cover the double room supplement of 15 euro/night, including breakfast and city tax. Your plus one is also welcome to join you for lunch and the cultural immersion day at the same costs as for any other participant (see the cost breakdown annexed below).
