Summer Modules for Intercultural & Language Education (SMILE)

WHAT IS IT?

A week of intensive language teaching or learning as well as intercultural activities.

Modules are organized in Chambéry by half-days, leaving time for intercultural activities and excursions organized in the surroundings.Proposed courses :

- French,

- English,

- Spanish,

- Italian,

- Intercomprehension in Romance languages,

- Intercultural communication.

NEW THIS YEAR in addition to the other levels usually offered: opening of French, Spanish and Italian courses for beginners A1 too (if the number of candidates is sufficient).

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

Any staff member from an international university who is looking to go on a teaching mobility or improve his/her level in foreign languages (training mobility).

For participants of a training mobility, the number of seats is limited and only 3 participants from the same university will be accepted.

WHERE? In Chambéry. Several excursions and activities around Chambéry will be organized.

WHEN? On 24-29 June 2024

ACTIVITIES

- Language courses with several group levels ranging from A1 to C1 (see brochure);

- Visit of the historical cities of Annecy and Chambéry;

- Excursions to the mountains and/or lakes.

PRICE

- Free of charge for guest lecturers (teaching mobility)

- 200€ for participants (training mobility).

Included: tuition fees for courses, excursions (from Monday to Friday), 2 dinners for the whole two-week stretch.Not included:accommodation,transportation to and from Chambéry,other meals (lunches and dinners),all additional personal expenses.

- For both, lecturers and participants: optional excursion on Saturday June 29th at an additional price: €20 each, including transportation from and to Chambéry.

ACCOMMODATION

We do not provide accommodation.

However, after your registration, we will recommend you some hotels with a good price/quality ratio in the city center of Chambéry to make your stay easier.

- If you are interested by several courses or if you apply as a teacher and you are also interested to attend a course as a participant, in this case, please indicate your 1st choice in the form and your 2nd choice in "general comments" at the end of the form (indicating the language and level chosen).

- Please note, only one form per person can be submitted.
