At the URV we have designed a training course on internationalisation especially for administrative staff. This "Train the Trainers" programme will be given at the URV and will provide trainers with all the tools they need to give courses on internationalisation at their home institutions, and help them bring about the systemic change towards internationalisation.

The “Train the trainers” course stems from the SUCTI Project, which has been proposed by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) to the SGroup European Universities' Network. SUCTI (Systemic Universities Change Towards Internationalisation) was born out of the university system's need to adopt internationalisation.

Once our universities have truly absorved the concept of internationalisation, the systemic change will make them truly international institutions, and internationalisation will become second nature to them and not merely an added extra. This is a much needed change and universities have long worked towards this objective, by increasing student mobility numbers, links to other institutions and joint research and publications, among other things. But what about the administrative staff? Obviously there are international staff weeks. But is this enough? Does this benefit all of our administrative staff?

After completing the “Train the Trainers” programme, participants will:

- Be able to train other university administrative staff in the most important aspects of internationalisation, so they can raise awareness and shift the internal culture of their institutions towards internationalisation and thus create systemic change.

- Be aware that the training forms part of the Internationalisation at Home process and that it leads to sustainable results.

- Be better informed about internationalisation.

- Have better presentation skills.

- Have a great understanding of intercultural communication.

- Have learnt from other trainers, other participants and other cultural backgrounds.

This training course has three different types of content:

- Information on internationalisation

- Intercultural communication skills

- Presentation skills
