Universidade Portucalense (UPT) is inviting colleagues from partner universities in Europe to participate in the V International Staff Week that will take place from 23th to 26th April 2019 in Porto.

Participants are expected to obtain Erasmus+ mobility grants form their home institutions.

We accept a maximum of 25 persons and 2 per institution.

An active participation is highly welcome. After application deadline (14th January), only selected participants will be notified. Nevertheless, we will try to answer back to inquiries from applicants.

The applicants that need a confirmation of acceptance by the end of 2018 because of home application procedures to Erasmus+ programme must then inform us.

Non-partner institutions may propose cooperating under Erasmus+, by sending: Name of HEI; Erasmus code; Subject area name-(only if existent at UPT-please see course catalogue below), Type of mobility (SMS, SMP, STT, STA). An answer shall be given briefly.

 

During the V International Staff Week at UPT, there will take place the following different kinds of events:

Up to 20 min Presentations from selected participating universities and Roundtables, as means of sharing best practices, on the following topics within Erasmus+:

  • International Credit Mobility,
  • Jean Monnet;
  • Intensive Study programmes;
  • Erasmus Mundus joint master degrees

Topics may be slightly changed according to participants’ profile.

Seminar-type lessons* on: Economics, Management, International Relations, Law, Information Systems, Tourism and hospitality management, Psychology and Social Education. Course catalogue may be consulted here: https://www.upt.pt/page.php?p=894

*the possibility of students working out a task during the lecture would be much appreciated

Crash Course on Portuguese Language

Besides, a number of opportunities for networking will be provided through social/cultural activities as for example: welcome diner, trip to Alto Douro Wine Region (UNESCO World Heritage) and farewell dinner.

This is the outline of the preliminary programme:

Tuesday afternoon: welcome and short round of introduction of participants| Welcome dinner

Wednesday: Presentations/roundtables/Seminar-type lessons/Crash Course on Portuguese Language

Thursday (national holiday, university closed) – all day trip to Alto Douro Wine Region

Friday- Presentations/roundtables/Seminar-type lessons | Farewell dinner

The registration fee includes courses/seminars, lunch meals and cultural programme. Payment details will be communicated to accepted applicants by email. This may happen by the end of February.

UPT invites you to coffee breaks and welcome and farewell diners.
