It’s our pleasure to inform you that we will be holding the fourth edition of our Annual International Administrative and Teaching Staff Training Week at the Universidade de Vigo, Spain, from 23rd to 27th June 2014.

As in previous editions, we hope to gather a great spread of nationalities and representation from various categories of staff. This year’s  theme is Multilingual Universities: Preparing EU Citizens for a Global Society  The event will thus address a number of topics relevant for colleagues working with international students or involved in multilingualism in any way. Each day of the week will focus on a specific topic:

-    Multilingualism and internationalization at home.

The challenges of a multilingual university: costs, students and staff qualifications, the safeguard of local minority languages.

-    Multilingual language policies in higher education.

-    Language training and language support measures for teachers, students and administrative staff. What do student and staff need? What services do universities provide?. Who provides language training and support?

-    English Medium Instruction in European Universities: The whys and wherefores. Language requirements, the effect of EMI on the quality of the programmes, English for all vs. students' choice, teacher training in CLIL pedagogy, assessment and follow-up.

The event will include lectures, workshops as well as opportunities to network, benchmark and share your expertise with colleagues around Europe (see the preliminary programme enclosed for more details). We’ll also have a parallel cultural programme and time to visit the campus and discover the city and its beautiful surroundings.

If you would like to attend this event and/or contribute to it with a presentation proposal, please send us the registration form as soon as possible.

The online application form can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1nftUhDqoBHGUvuNqDslvKJqfzqxgyCrwBdpfK3E...

The selected participants will get a confirmation by e-mail together with the hotel list and booking and traveling details.

We remind you that European Union participants have the possibility to apply for ERASMUS + Staff Training mobility grants from their home institutions (Participants are kindly requested to contact their home institution for STT funding, where possible).
