SMK University of Applied Sciences is pleased to invite you to our International Staff Week: Empowering Education Through Research Integration: global practises and insights. The ISW will be held from the 23rd to the 26th of April 2024 in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
This week will provide opportunities for teachers from SMK partner universities to give classes for SMK students. Academics are welcome to propose lectures in a variety of subjects (please check the attached file indicating the areas of study subjects). The lectures are targeted at Bachelor’s degree students. The teaching language is English.
Additionally, during the event we will dedicate time to delve into and jointly explore the diversity of ways on how research is embedded into the curriculum and linked to different outcomes for student learning with a particular focus at the undergraduate level. If you have experience or are willing to explore how to enhance the integration of research into teaching to improve the quality of education or activate students to engage in research activities as part of their education – SMK invites you to join this ISW and share your practises and insights, such as:
· Integrating research results into the curriculum within different disciplines.
· Tools and methods that facilitate research-driven education.
· Applied research results integration into the studies.
· Teachers’ involvement and motivation to take part in R&D activities.
· Student engagement in scientific activity.
· Stakeholders’ engagement in R&D activities.
Costs
The non-refundable participation fee is €150. The participation fee includes coffee breaks, lunches, one welcome dinner, and other social activities foreseen in the programme.
We will send the details for the bank transfer for registered participants. The payment of the participation fee will be a definitive confirmation of your participation in International Staff Week.
Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses through the Erasmus+ funds for staff mobility or otherwise using the grants provided by the home University of a participant. We invite participants to check the availability of such funding with their home institution.
The application deadline is Friday, 5th April, 2024.
